This hook stopper is for the ATV and UTV Winch. The winch will fit between the two outside rollers on an ATV or UTV winch fairlead. Works well with synthetic rope or slot fairlead. This Winch stopper stops wear and tear on your rollers from the hook. No more hook clatter going down the trails. It protects the winch motor and gears from pulling the cable in too far and bottoming out on the rollers. The winch stopper keeps tension on the hook to eliminate the cable from becoming too loose. Not only can you damage your rope, but you can also damage the sliding surfaces on your fair lead. This means that the next time you use it, your rope will be sliding across a marred surface which will snag it, cut it, and wear it down.

SAFETY & INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINCH STOPPER:

• For your protection: Please wear leather gloves when installing

• Free spool winch, and pull out approx. 2 feet of cable.

• Pull the hairpin and release the clevis pin from the winch hook.

• Remove the four bolts that fasten the two halves of the Split Hook Cable Stopper together.

• Place the cable or rope between the two halves, insert the four bolts, then tighten.

• Re-attach the hook to the cable end.

• To stow the hook, grip the clutch, and retract the cable on the winch spool until the hook is snug against the hook stopper and fairlead.

• Position the hook stopper at approx. 3/4 of the total line distance towards the hook, while using your winch.
